Akash Kumar, for instance, commends its performance, though he mentions the sync speed can be a bit slow.
However, it's worth mentioning that not all users have had a positive experience. John Fan expresses frustration with recurring issues, while Robbie.J reports difficulties with syncing between Chrome on a PC and Safari on an iPhone.
My Personal Experience
Despite the mixed reviews, I personally found iCloud Bookmarks to be reliable and efficient. It did require a reboot of my Chrome and PC initially, but once set up, it worked flawlessly. Fix this trash. Uninstalling from PC immediately, and will not ever consider this again. Make it make sense. Why are all my bookmarks icons and names mixed and no longer accurate? Passwords just double and create a separate set of passwords that aren't usable. The passwords it does make are incorrect and not recognized by any websites. Even recently made passwords that were created minutes prior to attempting to use them. Dont Get this if you want to reset every single password you have.
Stopped working months ago and still isn't fixed
Good
Duplicated my bookmarks 20,000 times (20,000x)... a waste of time... I am having to buy a subscription to another app to clean up and restore my bookmarks... very sad and frustrating
I have tried to sync my iPhone Safari bookmarks with my Windows 11 PC Chrome bookmarks. I have installed/uninstalled numerous times and it just does not work. I used to do this without problems on my old Windows 10 PC, but this functionality appears to be broken with Windows 11.
Not working.
Lmao what a joke of a service. How are these people working at apple?
it doesn't sync bookmarks from safari to other web browser
Doesn't actually allow you to sync your Safari bookmarks to your Chrome browser. More BS from Apple.
in short, i can not find a way to use any kind of device without restriction. This extinction lets you to see your saved icloud safari bookmarks to be transfered in google chrome but not vice versa( you won't see bookmarked tab in your iphone from chrome). You can not enjoy if you like iPhone as a phone and windows computers instead of mac. Make apps more crossplatform, no one wants to stuck in one place and i agree with WENDY D. i also switched to Chrome on iPhone
Does not work as I thought it should. It duplicates both on your phone and on your Windows PC. There are no clear indications of which Bookmarks/Favorite's is from which devices. I can't distinguish which bookmarks/favorites are from my PC or which is from my iPhone. When I tried to organize and clean up the bookmarks on my PC it did not do the same on my iPhone. It ended up duplicating all the bookmarks again. It's just a mess. I spent hours just to clean up my Windows PC bookmarks. Will Delete this extension and just use Chrome on my iPhone instead to avoid all the confusion.
The tabs are duplicating multiple times.
Can be a bit tempermental BUT for those that are having issues getting sync to work - which previously wasn't a problem for me - I *think* I got it working again by logging out on the iCloud for Windows app and then starting with the sign in again. This caused it to go fully back through the setup process and now I have not only Windows Chrome browser to iOS Safari sync working again - but also iCloud Drive is finally doing something other than just 'initialising'. It seems like an authentication token had got 'lost' or something along those lines, so it was just doing nothing, so the log out/in and authenticating via code on iPhone seems to have kicked it back into life.
shouldn't it have basic error checking, as in if it's moving the tabs around, duplicating tabs, and if there's a conflict, shouldn't it prompts user to merge? at this rate, it's safe to bet even people at apple use chrome instead of that thing.
doesn't seem to do anything.
Works everywhere apart from Chrome on my Windows 10 PC, which now just sits there with no bookmarks while all my Apple safari device based browsers (which is why I use this) and Firefox on PC happily syncing in both directions. Spent loads of time trying to work out why but I'm just over it now. Goodbye Chrome. Been using this for years so very sad!
i want to use my icloud bookmarks on my chrome mac browser. And surprise, apple doesn't allow to do it.
I've been using this for years to "synchronise" (big quotes there!) my iPhone and Mac safari bookmarks with two other browsers: Chrome on my Mac and Chrome on my work windows machine. I agree with other reviews here, something's amiss. Lately I've gotten copies of bookmark folders appearing in weird places, and lots of duplicates of things inside them. It's caused quite a mess and gotten worse lately. Last resort now, I'm trying the following to fix the mess: I've disabled this extension everywhere, gone back to safari to clean things up (took quite a while... thanks for nothing guys), and exported/saved a copy of my safari bookmarks this time. Next I've deleted all bookmarks from Chrome everywhere and am about to attempt to have them re-imported back into Chrome using this extension. Fingers crossed, but if it doesn't work this time, I'm out. Sorry Chrome! I persevered for years with this extension and have nearly had enough! Enough to drive me away from chrome I have to say, except for Chrome's excellent integration with google docs/sheets/drive
tried this again after a few years and it still creates infinite duplicates
Endless duplicates
Many duplicates are created. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox, it affects all the browsers I have installed. Does Apple not have some programmer that can fix this and make the extension usable?
Works as intended! I just needed to restart my PC to make it work
Stopped working on Windows 10 and Windows 11 January 2024. This extension will no longer sync to iCloud.
The update was a bit quirky and made the extension stop working. Here is what I did to make it work as intended (even the latest iCloud password extension): 1) Uninstall the iCloud app and the iCloud browser extension(s). 2) Restart your computer. 3) From your Apple device, go to your iCloud profile settings > iCloud > Show All (if needed) > and toggle off Safari (will temporarily turn off bookmark and password syncing). 4) Reinstall iCloud app from the Microsoft Store. 5) Reinstall latest iCloud browser extensions using links provided in iCloud app setup or from browser add-on store. 6) Using directions from step 3 above, toggle Safari back on (will turn on bookmark and password syncing). 7) Everything should sync properly. If not, repeat the steps.
I dont like this extension
Doesn't even work for me ughhh
Only works for the first time, afterward no syncing is done.
Trash, does not work. At first it was duplicating all my bookmarks infinitely, now it stops syncing all together. This has been an ongoing issue for months now and no update and support. Wth Apple?
It amazes me that I've been locked out of my passwords due to this new two factor bs. I've tried several times to get this to work. No luck at all.
It doesn't work
